Basic Workshop On Animal Cell Culture Techniques - Biomedical Cluster under the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Development) in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine has organized a Workshop on Basic Animal Cell Culture Techniques on 10 until 12 August 2015 located at the Hall Theatre and Tissue Culture Laboratory Medical Campus, UniSZA. Workshop held cell culture is intended to provide a platform for training graduate students using cell culture techniques in their research projects as well as their supervisors. The workshop covers the basic techniques involved in cell cultures and introduces the target groups to the knowledge and skills related to animal cell culture. The three-day workshop was attended by 25 participants comprising staff and postgraduate students which includes two slots of theory and hands-on labs. The inauguration was performed by Prof. Dr. Tengku Mohamed Ariff bin R. Hussin whereas the theory slot, speakers were Prof. Dr. Abdul Manaf bin Ali, Dr. Siti Yusrina Nadihah and Dr. Jamaludin Mohd Hilmi Abu Bakar. Slot internship have been successfully implemented with the help of facilitators, consisting of Mr. Tuan Syed Ahmad Tajuddin bin Johari, En. Yusran Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz, Mr. Mohd Haziq bin Abdul Hamid, Pn. Siti Aishah Abu Bakar and tolerances. Kadir Nur Ayuni. Overall, the workshop was able to expose participants to the basic techniques of animal tissue culture in theory and practice. In the future it is hoped the workshop could be organized again with some improvements due to an overwhelming response from participants.
